I made a lot of progress this week on the shed foundation form. First I had to put down another 1500 pounds of gravel to get the mid section of the form closer to 4 inches thick. That was a lot of gravel! 50 bags weighing 50 pounds each. I also laid out the rebar support which was much easier than I expected. It didn’t have to be perfect so it went quickly. I made a small investment in a chop saw which has already helped immensely.

The next step is to have the cement delivered and the form will pretty much be done.

I also did a sketchup of what the interior may look like with furniture – a desk with monitors, laptop and a comfy chair; a small couch and a bookshelf.

Getting very excited about this part being complete. It’s been a lot of work.

I dug some more of the footing out this weekend, then picked up a thousand pounds of gravel from Home Depot… Spread it out and turns out it’s not enough. I need to get the mid section of the foundation down to 4 inches thick and it’s at 6 inches right now. I think I’ll need another fifteen hundred pounds. Backbreaking! Check out the pictures here:

Once the slab is at the right thickness, I will lay out the rebar and schedule the concrete to be delivered. It’s getting close!

I was bored enough to video tape it for anyone who’s bored enough to watch… Not a bad commute, though, huh?

One evening an old Indian Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people..

He said: ‘My son, the battle is between ‘two wolves’ inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.’

The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’

The old Cherokee simply replied: ‘The one you feed.’

I haven’t wrote anything in a long time, so here’s a quick synopsis of what’s happened over the past few months.

Met Tomi in December. Her eyes caught my attention while I was having lunch with Jay near my new place in Topanga. Something drew me to her. I’ve been trying my best to keep this urge to want to see and be with her under control, but I’m slowly losing the control I once had. We’re in love. My head’s still spinning. This experience has hit me by surprise. My life and a lot of the things I want out of it are changing.

Went to Puerta Vallarta in April with the Jones’ and the Thelen’s and a few others for about a week. Had a wonderful and relaxing time. Stayed in a Villa on the bluffs just south of town. Did yoga for the first time… Had my first massage… First time to kite surf… Did some kayaking… Ate a lot… Swam a lot….

Tomi and I sailed to Catalina for a few days. On the way there we ran into a pod of hundreds of dolphin. They were everywhere. Several swam along with the boat for 30 minutes or so. Saw a baby swimming with it’s mother, mimicking her every move. Moored off Emerald Cove… Cooked and ate a lot, swam, laughed, played, couldn’t get enough of each other.

Playing a lot of music… Writing a few songs here and there… Looking forward to the day when I have more time to play, travel, relax…

I think this is a beautiful concept. Thanks Julie….

Oscar is a bad ass.

Some new tunes… sorry for the crappy recording. All my gear is packed up in storage.
