Here are the brains to a new robotics project I’m working on. See all the pretty flashing lights? I programmed it to do that! The firmware is an embedded OS, something called TinyRTOS, and it includes memory and queue management, a lightweight TCP/IP stack and all sorts of other goodies and an API to control all the analog inputs and digital outputs. The firmware is written in C, compiled and transferred to the controller board via USB where it stores itself on EPROM and runs until power is disconnected. You can also control the device via OSC commands using UDP or USB packets. Shit… I’m such a nerd.

My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.

I’ve been seeing such breathtaking colors in the sky over the past week. Such a beautiful combination of blues, purples, reds, oranges, pinks and greys. This is why I live where I do… I will not buy a house until I can comfortably afford a place with a comparable energy and view. I love my lagoon and the animals that live there… The family of geese with 7 new babies, our foxes, raccoons, possums and the slew of birds that call this place home, too.

My answer to anyone who wants to put up a personal website, blog, photo page, etc, quickly is Google Pages. It’s google’s elegant solution to easy web publishing. You can upload photos, change the layout, add content, do whatever you want. It’s not the best if you’re going to be blogging A LOT, but it will at least get you started. It’s easier than setting up a server with wordpress and the admin is more user friendly. Check it out… All my friends should have websites! I wish I could help everyone out personally, but if I helped every friend that asked me for a website it would end up consuming so much of my time that I’d never have a life.
