Nemo - The Line-Following Robot

Posted on Saturday 10 February 2007

This is a robot I finished putting together today. He follows lines on the floor, and not that well I might add. He’s my first robot to ever build and I think I’ll name him Nemo.

UPDATE: I’ve changed the front LED’s from red to yellow and added a brushguard on the front to add clearance and added protection from getting snagged on the carpet and it’s made worlds of difference. Nemo now follows a line for hours and almost never loses the line. The one time he did, he circled around and found it on his own - see the video of his track.

    Very nice, Gabe! :)

Did u try using Microsoft Robotics Studio to program the robot?

All the best to you with the future developments!

No, not on this one. Nemo doesn’t have a microcontoller - just straight circuits. I’ve played around with Robotics Studio though. Definitely want to try using that in a future project.
